NEWS: Want To Be In A Comic Movie Filmed In Ireland?

Following on from an exclusive post on ICN several weeks ago where it was rumoured that the new Asterix film Asterix: God Save Britannica would be filmed in Clare, it is now confirmed that the film will be filmed in September in West Clare. The film will provide an oppurtunity for around 200 extras to be part of the various armies needed for the film. As detailed in this weeks edition of Clare Champion newspapaer:
Open castings will take place this Saturday in the Ennistymon Community Centre, Parliament Street, Ennistymon, from 10am to 7pm. A second open casting takes place on Monday, July 25 at the Pavillion Town Hall in Lisdoonvarna from 6pm to 10pm.

The film is based on the comic books of René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo and are renowned worldwide. Asterix & Obelix: God Save Brittania will star Gérard Depardieu as Obelix and Edouard Baer as Asterix.
