NEWS: Top Selling Irish Creators In July
Diamond Distribution have released their top 300 selling comics list of July. The list is littered with no less than 6 appearances on the this months monthly list with Declan Shalvey leading the charge once more, two appearances from Garth Ennis and one each from Stephen Thompson, PJ Holden and Will Sliney.
Up first was Declan Shalvey’s Thunderbolts #160 in 65th position. It beat out a fair amount of the Flashpoint and Feat Itself books to keep Declan as the top selling Irish creator once more.
Next on the list was the first appearance of Garth Ennis with The Boys #56 in 118th position. It beat out the likes of Punisher Max #15, Power Girl #26 and Astonishing Thor #5.
In #134th spot is Butcher, Baker, Candlestickmaker #1 also from Garth Ennis which beat out American Vampire #17, Invincible #81 and Spawn #209.
In 177th spot is a reappearance on the list from Stephen Thompson with his excellent work on Clive Barker’s Hellraiser #3 from BOOM! Studios. This issue marked BOOM! Studios top selling comic of July and beat out the likes of Green Hornet #17, Fathom #1 and Hellblazer #281.
In 198th spot is PJ Holden on Robocop/Terminator: Kill Human #1 from Dynamite Entertainment. It sneaked into the top 200 at the expense of Sweet Tooth #23, Ka-Zar #2 and Tiny Titans #42.
And finally, Will Sliney’s work on Farscape #21 gets him back on the list after a month off it at #285. Will’s issue beat out Total Recall #1, Venom Flashpoint #1 and 3 Walking Dead Weekly Issues.
On the graphic novel chart Garth Ennis owns the chart in regards Irish creators with no less than three appearances. He leads the way in #193 with Battlefields Volume 2 Hardcover.
Garth makes his second appearance at #235 with a new printing of Preacher: Gone To Texas, the first volume in the legendary series.
And the Belfast native makes it the trifecta with The Boys: Highland Laddie; Volume 8 of the hit series in at #246.
