NEWS: Art For Alexandra Auction Raises Over €63,000

An auction organised to help raise funds for artist Alexandra Trotsenko who lost several digits in a horrific knife attack has rasied over €60,000.
The auction which was held at Adams Auctioneers in Blackrock Co. Dublin featured pieces from Robert Ballagh, Jane O’Malley, Markey Robinson and RTE’s Liveline presenter Joe Duffy, who highlighted the cause on his daytime radio show, whose piece sold for €620.
Doctors have told Alexandra that prosthetic fingers will cost in the region of €10,000.
Her attacker James Kenny was jailed for 16 years by a court following the attack at her apartment in 2009.
The auction funds now bring the fund for Alexandra to over €80,000 counting the money raised by Liveline listeners.
