NEWS: Ireland's Top Selling Creators Through Diamond For December

Comics distributor Diamond has released their top 300 selling graphic novel and comics list for December 2011. On the graphic novel list Brendan McCarthy was the top selling creator with his contribution to the Rocketeer Adventres first collected edition at #27. Outside that Garth Ennis dominated the rest of the entries with no fewer than five sopts on the list. The final Irish creator to make the list is Will Sliney whose latest Farscape collected edition comes in at #175.

In a month where Justice League #4 sold over 140,000 copies it was the standard bearer for the month. The top selling comic with an Irish creator last moth was Declan Shalvey on Thunderbolts #167. He was followed by Garth Ennis in #124, 148, 164 & #188 with books from Avatar and three from Dynamite. Nick Roche got on the list with the Death of Optimus Prime one shot from IDW in #156. Stephen Thompson’s continuing great work on Hellraiser with issue #8 got #186 on the list and Will Sliney’s work on the flashback scenes in Pigs #4 earned him a place at #287.
The chart reads as the comics position on the list in the first column. Market share compared to Justice League #4 is in the second column. i.e For every hundred books sold of JL #4 Thunderbolts sold 15.82. The final columns on the right are publisher and estimated copies sold through Diamond.
