FCBD At Enniskillen Comic Fest

Irish self-publishers and creatives have donated works to the public as part of Enniskillen Comic Fest on Free Comic Book Day this coming weekend.

The move came about after the retirement of the Black Panel, a Belfast-based outlet set up by Paddy Brown and co-managed with Andy Luke (who provided the details of this giveaway). The distributors took comics to twenty markets between 2009-2011, set up online ordering in 2012 and briefly ran a store in Belfast’s Haymarket Arcade in 2013. paddybrown.co.uk andy-luke.com

“Closing up over the last year, a lot of creators asked us to just give their books away. I was gobsmacked; Rob Curley and Bob Neilson’s donations are particularly sizeable. So much variety. There’s such a lot of work gone into these comics and the generosity the creators are showing are further marks of true artistry,” says Andy.
