The Human Beings issue one now live on KickStarter
Stuart McCune returns with his latest KickStarter project, issue one of the Human Beings. McCune has run a number of successful KickStarter campaigns and I expect this one to be no different. I’ve enjoyed his previous comics, such as Epilogue (reviewed here), and I’m looking forward to reading this one too.
From the KickStarter page:
The Human Beings is a new full colour U.S. size comic book from Monologue creator SJMcCune. Each issue is in an anthology style and will have a selection of stories. The characters and places will reoccur, (sometimes in the same issue, sometimes just in the background later), creating a fully realised world. In this first issue the stories range from the alt-reality tale The Agreement to the slice-of-life Not Working. Everything is interspersed with random one-pagers and illustrations to form a book unlike anything out there at the moment. The format is influenced by great 1990s books like Eightball, Jim, and Yummy Fur but the content is uniquely freaky. The creative freedom of The Human Beings is what makes it. In fact after reading The Human Beings if you know of a similar book, send it to me, and I’ll give you your money back. Like all my Kickstarters all work is already complete and there are prints, posters, tees, commissions, and huge back catalogue packages available in the rewards.
The pledge amounts to get a comic are £1 for a digital copy and £5 for a printed copy. There are higher levels if you want sketch cards, prints or copies of other comics by McCune.
There’s plenty of art as well as information about the various items you can get in addition to the comic on the higher pledge levels. Click the link and have a gander. It might just be the sort of comic you’ve been looking for.
