Enniskillen Comic Fest Obtains Charity Status
Enniskillen Comic Fest has always been about creating a show for fans as opposed to making money and I have always loved the “by fans for fans” vibe. That is why I am so happy to hear that it has obtained charity status. Here’s what Paul Trimble had to say on the subject:
Way back in 2015 when we first started to plan ComicFest I was advised by the Arts Council to get registered for Charity status, this was then backed up by our local Council when applying for funding. As a non-profit event run for the benefit of the local community ComicFest falls under the category of “The Advancement Of The Arts, Culture, Heritage or Science” in the Twelve Charitable Purposes as defined in The Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. The process has been a long one but we are delighted to say that recently the Enniskillen ComicFest has finally been awarded Charitable Status which will help when we are applying to funding bodies. We want to keep on bringing you the best!
This of course leads to other opportunities for the event:
Since the Enniskillen ComicFest was awarded Charity status a number of fundraising avenues have opened up. One of these is via SmileAmazon, the same as regular Amazon but if a purchase is made here, and ComicFest has been chosen as the recipient, then Amazon will make a donation. We realise that there are many worthwhile charities but if you would consider the Enniskillen ComicFest it would help us continue to bring you our award winning Comic Convention. Thank you!
