Seán Hogan reveals new art and information on Brotherhood

Hogan is currently working full-time on his latest comic project, Brotherhood, and has some new art to share to get us all excited for the planned self-published release later this year.

It’s a change of pace from his previous project Rabbit and Paul (more please!), so I’m quite excited to see the finished comic. I’m certainly intrigued by the premise.

Here’s some information on the project (with preview art and Hogan’s socials below):

Macdara, a young Irish teen, is dragged into the raging War of Independence when he is accidentally involved in the death of a British “Black and Tan” constable. To cover his tracks, he and his friends, Colm, Ciara, and Seamus, form the Brotherhood. Egged on by the eccentric Old Man O’Donovan, the friends imitate the guerrilla warfare tactics of the rebels. As the teens begin to enjoy their new daring pursuit, the danger increases and consequences mount. Unexpected twists, cathartic action and the subversion of tropes all feature in Part 1 of  2 of this thrilling and thought provoking journey.

After 4 years working in the Animation and Video Game industries, Brotherhood is Seán Hogan’s  long-awaited return to comics. Ireland’s traumatic and unique past is the backdrop to this landmark title, with Irish history explored through Hogan’s unique voice.

The work seeks to satirise the consequence-free depiction of violence and power fantasies that dominate media today and explores Hogan’s fascination with Ireland’s history and natural beauty.
